Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival

04/30/2012 by Pattie 2 Comments

Every year around this time I find the need to go see something breathtakingly beautiful.
Maybe it is because school is in its last month, and it is hard to do the home stretch of school for some teachers….Like me.   I hate it and I love it at the same time when school comes to an end.
You can probably guess why I love it, summer vacation and all….. but I hate it too.  It’s like a fun party that is now over. That’s how it feels for me.  I love my job. I love teaching little kids. It’s the greatest job on earth.
Even though mine is WAY down on the list of The 100 Best Jobs in America…..CHECK it out! My job, Elementary school teacher, #92, isn’t as good as a Funeral Director’s, but is a tad better than a sewage plant operator! LOL

This year will be particularly hard for me because I’ve taught most of  these darling kids for 2 years and I love them all.

So I go to find beauty in the world somewhere……and here it is at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, Utah.
If you need a lift….go see a beautiful flower garden….it will  light up your life!  JUST LOOK AT IT!!!
How could you not feel joy looking at yards and yards of this?
As I walked from one garden to another I kept thinking, “Well, now THIS one is my favorite….no, no….now THIS one is!”
I had planted tulips in my own garden for the first time this year…and they came up as such a lovely surprise just after winter….right as the last snow was just melting….
But the deer in our neighborhood found them a week later and ate all the beautiful, red tops off!!!
Now I’m just left with the leaves and stems….it’s pretty funny looking….
But these tulip gardens are simply breathtaking, and there is a glorious  riot of color everywhere….
I love it at Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival….it’s only at the beginning of April every year….it lasts for just a few weeks!
And then it is gone.  Just like Spring in Utah. I dragged the hubs even though he has a bad knee and can’t walk for long…
But he is such a trooper anyway because he knows how much I love being there….
It’s like Disneyland for a flower lover…..
In the gift shop I loved this wall of clocks…..everything was very expensive there…..We saw an $8,000 couch.  Yeah, I don’t think we will be buying our furniture there….
I think this was my true favorite….purple, white and red…..
Did I tell you red was my favorite color?
We got a nice stranger to snap this pic…the hubs and I.
Then we drove out to Wendover the the Peppermill Concert Hall to see Dana Carvey’s comedy show. Gotta love the church lady.  It was so funny I  laughted till I cried! These kinds of things make life worth livin…..
Beauty and Laughter…2 of the best things in life.

Choosing Paint Colors and Wood Flooring

04/28/2012 by Pattie Leave a Comment

I’ve been busy trying to get rid of this “BEFORE” picture in my great room…..for years now!

When we bought our house 12 years ago, there was this wonderful, big, square, great room just off the living room…..

Super for parties and big gatherings….We could fit 32 people for sit down Thanksgiving dinners in here….
The only problem was……all this 80s wallpaper……well, and the 80s decor…so yesterday!
That and my blue and mauve 80s color scheme…..lots of cute little ribbons and bow everywhere too….yuck!
I’ve wanted to change it for the longest time…..but I couldn’t face it after remodeling the basement, kitchen,   2 bathrooms….and 4 bedrooms!  It’s one of those things where you need to take a breather before you can face it again!
But a week ago was my Spring Break from school…..so all of a sudden one day….we just started tearing wallpaper off……and then….well it was too late by then. The deed was done!
That wallpaper tearing thing lasted about an hour before we gave up and rented a steamer from Home Depot….it went a lot faster after that…..
Stripping wallpaper….well, if you have ever done it you know….it is HORRIBLE!   don’t wanna go there ever again.
I actually went over to Wallpaper Warehouse  to look at some Sherman Williams paint samples? And guess what I saw? Little old ladies over there BUYING WALLPAPER!   Somebody needs to tell them the 80s called and want their wallpaper back….snicker….
Picking paint has been a nightmare….I want a pale aqua…not baby blue, not mint green, not  Tijuana, Mexico colors….
I would narrow it down…..
Then change my mind and add a few back in…..
Then narrow it down again…ask the hubs….not listen to the hubs…..
Then I thought the pointy one to the right was it!  So I bought a sample for the wall….and painted some on….
And there it is….a baby blue nursery color….nope…that was not workin’ for me at all!  Don’t you LOVE
all our wires hanging out of our walls…yeah we do things really neatly at our house…

I went to Lowes, Home Depot, looked at Martha Stewart’s and Disney’s colors, looked at Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore, Wallpaper Warehouse….looked online at pictures and read recommendations….and what it all boils down to is this…..

Great Room Redecoration…..or how to lose your mind in 30 days….

You pick your best 2 colors and you buy  $3.00 samples and paint on a section of wall.  I will NEVER, NEVER do it any other way.  It’s the only way to be sure.  And don’t take the hubs with you. They just want you to choose anything so the nightmare can get closer to being finished, you know what I mean, don’t you?  Yeah.  It’s a bummer.

Our poor dog Brucie doesn’t know what all this sanding noise and dust is about, but he’s hiding by  his perch in the window most days, just trying to stay out of everybody’s way, poor doggie.

So it boiled down to choice 1 and 2. And the hubs said, “let’s just get it now” and I caved.  So I have more mint than the aqua I wanted. But at least the green is very light…. and in the grand scheme of things, does this really matter in life? No it doesn’t.  When you’ve had real challenges in life, you learn not to sweat the small stuff.

Here’s what it looked like after the wallpaper was stripped off….very “peachy”!
Here were the sample paints and lots of patching of holes here and there…..
Then lots of sanding….sanding….sanding….thanks Gary!  (I’ve got the greatest son-in-law) 😀

Anyhoo, here are the finished walls. They don’t look bad, they aren’t my favorite, but they definitely ARE an improvement over the 80s groovy floral-and-striped wallpaper from the previous owners.

Here’s the AFTER picture.  So instead of peachy colored on the bottom….we now have white.  And kind of a beachy aqua on top. I painted the bottom half white with white chair rails.  We will have to go over the doors    and ceilings with white in the summer when I have more time.
My daughter Tiff and her hubs Gary came over and helped us get it  painted in a day! Thanks guys!
It made the room so much brighter!  And the carpet looked so much dingier!  Ugh!
Ignore my junk everywhere……
Now I have to get all the carpet ripped up and……
Choose between the wood for the floors….I’ve narrowed it down….again! (HEY! that’s actually the hard part!)
We are ordering the  solid wood from Wood Floor Warehouse in Salt Lake (about 4500 South West of the 15 Freeway). They have great deals, they help you by lending you tools and teaching you installation for free on Saturday mornings.
Maple (lightest one), golden oak (darkest one) and white oak, last one….

So those are the 3 finalists….Oh I’m just loving life right now, can’t you just tell?  I hate these hard decisions.  Which one do you like best? The maple floors, golden oak or white oak? Those are your only choices people, now let’s make that decision quickly! Time is a wastin!

Devin’s BYU Graduation 2012

04/21/2012 by Pattie Leave a Comment

Do you wanna know what a great parent payback is? A kid who graduates from college. Oh yeah! That hits you where you live. It was an awesome family day yesterday April 20th. The best part of the ceremony was when the MC asked all those who had served missions to stand. Literally all of them stood up! It was really quite amazing. They stood over and over as the Dean asked questions (like how many had parked in the faculty’s parking spaces…) LOL. Gotta love it.

My all grown up kid,  Devin we love you!

He hiked Y mountain with Caitlin the day of his commencement…..

Spent a lot of time here?  mmmhmmmm….

I’d give this experience a 10 but you can’t dance to it….

Lovely tulips everywhere….Oh and there’s Devin!

It also happened to be Marisa’s 5th birthday. So we had her “ride the bull” at Texas Roadhouse. It was funny
hearing everybody’s whoops and catcalls.
Ride em cowgirl!

My favorite picture of the day…..

This one is a close second…..

Well….I got teared up here….

Marisa loves Devin too….but not as much as she loves Caitlin!

The whole family was there but Jeff ran to get us seats at Texas Roadhouse and missed the pictures….Thanks Jeff. We do appreciate not having to wait at all for seats in the crazy Provo rush after graduation….what a mess~!

Grandparents and grads….

Such a happy family day for us….

Tiffany was taking our picture….thanks Tiff!

Proud papa…

Proud parents!

French Vanilla Cream Puffs

04/12/2012 by Pattie Leave a Comment

My Easter desserts…..mini Cream Puffs!
And they were so cute on the dessert bar!
Yummy and easy Cream Puffs!

My French born sister-in-law Danielle makes these TO DIE FOR cream puffs every year at 4th of July. Everyone has come to expect and love them. She actually can’t make a different dessert or everyone gets all bent out of shape. So I have been calling her to get her recipe. I wanted to make them for Easter.

The ingredients for cream puffs are only 4….so easy!
Water, butter, flour and eggs….
Batter before adding the eggs…..I let it beat a little to let off some of the steam….
Then I added 1 egg at a time and beat for a minute in between eggs…..
The cream puff batter is  like pudding…

Easy Cream Puffs:  My French sis-in-law Danielle’s recipe
1 cup water
1/2  cube butter
1 cup flour
4 eggs
Heat oven to 400. Heat water and butter to a rolling boil. Stir in flour until
mixture forms a ball. Remove from heat. Let cool a bit till batter is not hot. Beat in eggs one at a time. Drop
dough 1 Tbsp size onto baking sheet using a pastry bag. Mine were about 1 3/4 inches oval x 1 1/2 and I got about 30 little cream puffs. Cook until puffy and golden. I did 14 minutes at 400 and then turned oven down to 350 for 5 minutes. I think from posts I read on other blogs 20 minutes is perfect for smaller cream puffs. Larger ones about 20 minutes at 400 and 4 minutes at 350 but watch them the last 3 minutes. Your oven might be different as I am at high altitude.

Bunny cream puffs
These are darling cream puffs too. I LOVED these from HERE at Land O Lakes website.
I piped the batter onto a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper….

I added a blob of cream puff batter to each of the 4 corners…then pressed the parchment paper on top. It helps
“glue” the paper down to the cookie sheets.

Here are my finished cream puffs….just out of the oven!

Now they are ready to fill with the creamy, rich pudding filling….each one was a half a handful !

Cool. Cut a slit in the side with a knife. Fill cream puffs with a pastry bag filled with the french vanilla pudding mixture.  Make chocolate icing and spread over top.  Keep refrigerated.
Makes 12 large or 24 small cream puffs (mine made 30 little round ones- bigger than the Costco size) I think this is a perfect dessert to bring to Easter dinner because if you have other desserts, this can be a side garnish and they are so cute and yummy too.

French Vanilla Cream Filling
1/2 pint whipping cream (smallest carton)
1 small box instant vanilla pudding
1/2  half cup milk
Whip until thick.

1/2 cup milk, pint of cream and small box of french vanilla instant pudding….

Whip it up and then put into a pastry bag….

Squeeze inside of your little puffs….so easy!

The filling is really rich and creamy too…I had to pop one in my mouth to taste test it!

 Chocolate Fudgy Glaze
1/2 slick butter
2 Tbsp. cocoa
2 Tbsp. milk
2 cups powdered sugar

Heat until melted-add 2 cups powdered sugar until melted. Shake a fork
back & forth and then the other way to ice tops of cream puffs.

This was the most delicious chocolate glaze!

It was easy and quick….

And it tastes like the most divine fudge!  Really!

I spread it on very generously!  This chocolaty, fudgy glaze was delicious!
My finished plates of cream puffs….this recipe made 30 puffs….

That was 2 full plates full….enough for a crowd of people….

I added some purple Peeps to the plate of cream puffs… it added the cuteness factor….yeah! .

And I know somebody CUTE who LOVED my cream puffs!

And somebody else who loved the Easter egg hunt too!
My cute little girls after their Easter egg hunt…look at all that loot!
The daddies helped by hiding the eggs and then helping the girls find them all!

This was very cute to watch, as you can imagine!

The moms mostly just let the kids run around having a ball!

Can you tell this one was having a good time too? mmmhmmm……
We found one!  It’s pink!
This may be my favorite pic…..”how many did you find?”
Grandpa giving elephant rides!  Yipee!
My Easter dinner table 2012 minus the ham and cheesy potatoes, salads  and homemade bread…it was all yummo!

Hope everybody had a wonderful Easter dinner!  We sure did!

Easter Decorations and Pottery Barn Kiddie Table

04/06/2012 by Pattie Leave a Comment

Well we are having fun on Spring Break this year….decorating the little kiddie table with Peter Rabbit stuff…

I’ve been busy trying to get rid of this “BEFORE” picture in my great room…..
Picking paint has been a nightmare….I want a pale aqua…not baby blue, not mint green, not  Tijuana, Mexico colors….

Stripping wallpaper….well, if you have ever done it you know….it is HORRIBLE!   don’t wanna go there ever again.

I actually went over to Wallpaper Warehouse  to look at some Sherman Williams paint samples…there were
little old ladies over there BUYING WALLPAPER!   Somebody needs to tell them the 80s called and want their wallpaper back….snicker….
Going back to the store a million times to pick and repick paint colors….You should have seen this pile before I whittled it down to just 8 colors…….I’m sooooo decisive!

So……I got out all the Easter Decorations last Saturday….I’m on Spring Break…Woo Hoo!  And so I’ve
spent some time decorating the one room that still looks normal and not like a disaster area….
So I’m trying to paint my great room while hosting Easter dinner…..not fun…..not  fun  AT ALL!

I gotta take a break from all the mess….and go decorate….here’s the coffee table decorations….

The living room looks cute….but everything is getting covered with DUST from all the sanding!

My dog Brucie doesn’t know what to make of it!  “Get me outta here man, what the heck!”

Kitchen Table decorations…super cute!

I got new placemats this year….they look really springy

Changed out the Winter floral for spring flowers and little glittery eggs….

I have some pink ribbons I still have to change out here….I have the fall colored ribbons up still…

Cute new Easter napkins in the holder….

And I filled my little glass jars with eggs and candies and added my egg dishes to the plate rack…I almost
have little plates for every season now….

Little pastel taffy would have looked cuter than tootsie pops though…
I have pastel blue and sage green plates I’ll have to choose from when I set the table…

Got out the Spring Flowers too…

Front entry table…I love the cute Happy Easter I just got from Tai Pan…and the little ceramic dotted egg…

I got the cute egg runner last year and the cute, white egg candle at Kohls after the season sale… I think I’ve got
an egg theme going on here…..I love it!

Mr and Mrs. Bunny….too bad my dog Brucie bit the boy bunny’s eyeball out!  He’s a devious dog. Sometimes
we call him Brucifer when he’s naughty like that…he can be a bully to stuffed animals he doesn’t like…

spring flowers too….and lots of bunnies and eggs….

I love this picture of my granddaughter Marisa…..she’s my little bunny….
And I had some fun candy for this bunny dish but guess who ate it all? ….snicker….

I used to have a collection of these beautiful mercury glass eggs…till little kiddos loved them too much and cracked them…:( I hope I can find some more this season….
Spring floral arrangement in the corner….I think I’m all ready for Easter finally….I’ll just close the door
on the room that looks like a bomb blew off in there….

My little grand kids  Peter Rabbit table…I got the table for $28 bucks at Down Home East
and the decorations for 40% off at Pottery Barn Kids….Plates and utensils  from Target $1.00

My little bitty grandkids will love this….

Now I just have
to figure out what to make for dinner…….
Happy Easter!

Resurrection Easter Eggs

03/25/2012 by Pattie 2 Comments

The Resurrection of Christ….the greatest event to ever take place for us….

I have SO loved this idea since getting it once in a lesson on the great sacrifice of our Savior and His Atonement. I have used the Resurrection Easter Eggs around the Easter dinner table in my family. I’ve used it teaching teenagers in Sunday School and in a Family Night. It is a good reminder for me of what my Savior did for all of us.

Kids love object lessons. And this easter egg “signs of the Savior’s Sacrifice for us” is a great object lesson for kids and adults alike.  Every year, when I’ve taken out my little basket of 12 numbered, plastic eggs I’ve got a tear in my eye. I love the Savior. I believe in Him with all my heart. And I know in whom I have trusted.

If you want to hear a great talk check it out HERE.

In this chaotic life we are all a part of, it is a simple and clear walk through the steps to the Savior’s crucifiction and  resurrection, easily understood.

I remember as a young child going to Catholic school. We would attend church the week before Easter and go to something called “Stations of the Cross”.  It was my favorite thing I ever did as a Catholic. There were 12 areas around the inside of the church where 12 parts of the Crucifiction of Christ were depicted in art. We would go around to each one as a classroom, and say a prayer while somebody told us what was happening in the picture.  I attach great emotion to these memories. Even though I was a little kid, I knew what was happening. And it always made me feel sad.

I love this painting depicting the sacrifice our Savior made for us….

Why not recognize the greatest sacrifice ever made,  given by the greatest who ever lived among us on the National holiday of Easter?   Try to honor the Savior this Easter in some small way. Maybe by restudying the Atonement of Christ, and sharing it with family. That’s my simple and heartfelt message.

Another favorite painting of mine…I’m looking for a big copy of it to put in my greatroom remodel…it says to me….”I will look for you  when you  are lost…even though you are odd, different, ugly, damaged”  His love for us, evident.

The Resurrection Easter eggs can be put together using this easy tutorial HERE at Serving Pink Lemonade’s blog. . Use stuff around the house to fill your eggs. Another with a LIST is HERE at scribd.com. I actually like both of them. You could do a combination of both lists. I would skip the vinegar though, yucky :D.  A third lists is here copied from Yahoo Voices.

Egg #1: (palm) Jesus rode into Jerusalem and the people waved palm branches. Matthew 21:1-11
Egg #2: (cotton ball with cologne on it) Mary poured perfume on Jesus’ feet. John 12:3
Egg #3: (bread) Jesus shared the Last Supper with His disciples. Matthew 26:26
Egg #4: (coins) Judas betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. Matthew 26: 14-15
Egg #5: (a thorny stick) Soldiers placed a crown of thorns on Jesus’ head. John 19:2
Egg #6: (cross made from toothpicks) Jesus carried His own cross. John 19:17
Egg #7: (dice) Soldiers took Jesus’ clothes from him and cast lots for them. John 19:24
Egg #8: (nail) Jesus was nailed to the cross. John 19:18
Egg #9: (sponge) They gave Jesus vinegar mixed with gall to drink. Matthew 27:34
Egg #10: (whole cloves) Spices are used to prepare Jesus for burial. John 19:40
Egg #11: (rock) The stone covering to Jesus’ tomb was rolled away. Matthew 28:2
Egg #12: (empty) He is not here He has risen! Matthew 28:6

Read the scripture  and show what object is inside and explain what part it played in the Easter story.

This picture is from another bogger Beyond Sippy Cups HERE.

I loved getting this for my family. It has made a big difference in my life and my family’s too I believe. I just got out my Easter stuff yesterday. I’ll go over my 12 little eggs again and remember all those stations of the cross from many years ago again.

90th Birthday Celebration

03/12/2012 by Pattie Leave a Comment

Grandma Merlene turned 90 this week. So her husband, Don, had an open house party Saturday. She looked so sweet.   She got lots of flowers and everybody added to her scrapbook we made 10 years ago at her 80th birthday. Family came before us and after us, but these are the pics I got while I was there….

Grandma Merlene and my cute hubs…I made her some homemade bread…and boy!….it was a beautiful day !

This lady is amazing. She still gardens, bottles raspberry peach jam every year, works in the temple, and does genealogy like nobody else I know. She has hosted hundreds of dinners for our family over the years.

Here are just a few of her great grandchildren…my cute daughter-in-law Wendy and Josie….

Two more here..Tavin and Meg…..aren’t they sweet?

My 3 kids and grandpa Don….

She definitely does NOT look like 90!  She used to ski circles around me at age 79
when her doctor told her to lay off the snow skiing.  She is amazing.

My hubs and his bro and dad….and Grandma Merlene

She was the President of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers for over 5 years, and did museum work and held dinner parties many times during the year for the ladies. Just a few years ago she let go of her duties.

She ran a paper company when she was younger. She was President or CEO or something very important. She was also a Relief Society President AND a Seminary Teacher. She is always so nice, and always so photogenic!

My hub’s sis and  cute daughter and  her hubs….

Some of the yummy evil foods put out which we could NOT resist…cheesecake, red velvet cake, carrot cake,  turtles and cookies of all sorts….and chocolate covered almonds and punch…we were so bad, we just HAD to fill up on that candy!

Cute granddaughter Becky…she’s just finished her teaching credential and got a job before she was even done!

Robin and Dallas family pics

Dev and Cait (my son and daughter-in-law)  and grandpa…

more family…

More of the great grandkids….these are twins sitting on one stool…

My pretty daughter and her pretty daughter… another great grandchild….

more family pics…

Granddaughter Casey and her twin girls….

Dustin brought his 2 little boys,  and he and Steve were talkin’ soccer with grandpa….

Don’t they make a cute couple? Happy Birthday grandma! Hope you had a day as amazing as you are!

HAPPY DR. SEUSS DAY!! So…..today our school had an after school activity that was really fun. They showed a Dr. Seuss movie and gave out cake and popcorn for the kids in the gym.

In school we voted to find out which is our Favorite Dr. Seuss Book.  We did a CLASS GRAPH!  Then we had a book exchange and a Read-a-Thon in our Pajamas and with pillows and blankets!

I found 5 writing topics to choose from for the week. Here are the choices…..taken from the blog….Minds in Bloom. They actually had 20 ideas but we are choosing only 5 for our journal writing on Thursday…..

  1. Make a list of things you could do to cheer up the Grinch.
  2. The Cat in the Hat is lending you Thing 1 and Thing 2 for the day. What will you do with them?
  3. Pretend that you get to choose one Dr. Seuss book that will be translated into every language and given to every single child on the planet. Which book do you choose? Why?
  4. Create a new animal for If I Ran the Zoo. Describe your animal in detail, give it a name, and illustrate it.
  5. Choose a Dr. Seuss character and pretend that you will spend the day together. Create a schedule for the day.
We made in art some woven and colorful fish from the rolls of butcher paper in the school. We had 1 inch strips of paper and we cut strips in our giant 1 foot fish.  We are learning about measurement so that’s why we did 1 foot fish with 1 inch strips to weave in and out. The cute caption reads “One Fish Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.
Dr. Seuss Day Activities in the Gym were fun!
Here’s our One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish….
On Pinterest I found a cute handprint card made into Thing 1 and Thing 2 that I thought we could try for art this week.  It looks like a ton of work but I know the kids will like it and they can do it and maybe make up a poem about their Thing 1 or Thing 2 getting into some trouble on Dr. Seuss Day!
Thing 1 and 2 are waiting for some faces!  We’ll finish these tomorrow….
Here is a finished “Thing 1 handprint”

Making woven fish a few days ago…..
Then we had a competition to make the most “at” words of all!
We loved all the Dr. Seuss activities this week!
Here’s our cute Cat in the Hat bulletin board with our woven fish…

We also did a fun Crossword Puzzle and Wordsearch “fill in the blank Book Titles” Dr. Seuss Wrote.  And we had a book exchange at school. Kids brought their old but in good shape books to trade and some exchanged up to 15 books. They all acted like it was Christmas morning around here!

Favorite Books by Dr. Seuss Graph….
I think the favorite book was “The Lorax”

Today we had a Read-A-Thon in our Pajamas in honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday on March 2nd. Our school is putting on a movie after school with popcorn and Dr. Seuss green cake too. It’s fun to read in your jammies!

Two thumbs up for green eggs and ham!
In our Pajamas! The whole school wore pajamas!

Eating Green Eggs and Ham!

It sure was a very fun day today on Dr. Seuss Day!

PINE CONE SNOWMAN CRAFT

03/02/2012 by Pattie Leave a Comment

HERE at Tall Mouse is a link to a cute tutorial to make this darling little snowman. I have tons of pine cones saved up from my front yard BEFORE all this snow came along. So the kids in my classroom and my grandkids can have fun making snowmen!

Here is my variation on this cute Snowman. . I think a variety of colorful fabrics will make our pinecone snowmen even cuter.  This project will be a springboard to write about a snowman adventure!

  • 1 pinecone
  • 1½” white pom-pom
  • Two ½”  pom-poms
  • 1 brown chenille stems
  • 1 metallic gold or other colored chenille stem for earmuffs top and arms.
  • orange tiny pom pom or dot of paint for nose
  • White paint for the “snow” Black Sharpie marker for smile and eyes
  • 10”x1” piece of fabric for the scarf (snip the edges)
  •  hot glue gun
My variation will be to cut out 2 white circles out of felt and then glue gun them together except for one small area for stuffing with batting. This will save me some money spending on the expensive large pom poms. We can then choose and add the tiny pom poms for ear muffs.

I will also use some flannel fabric for the scarves. I think I can find a nice variety of flannel or regular fabric in Winter designs that will look cute.
.
This cute one was from Kaboose. I like the 2 light blue skiis to match the pinecone snowman skier.
The link is HERE for the instructions.
