Parade of Homes Highland, Utah, Part 2

06/22/2014 by Pattie 2 Comments

I LOVED the outside of this Highland Home at the Utah Parade of Homes in Highland. All the landscaping and flowers and walkways were all so PRETTY! And I loved the front  veranda too and the portico over the porch. And there is my son Devin, walkin in the door in front of me.  All of these houses were 1.5 to 2.5 million dollar homes. Dreamhomes really.

Walkway up to the front porch was very pretty. I like lots of brickwork. I’m working on doing some new brickwork in my entry this year. It may take me a year to finish it though. I’m a do it yourself-er.
The 3 different colors of rockers were a nice touch on this pretty brick veranda. The lot size was pretty big so you could sit on the porch and survey your little world in privacy (sort of)…well….that is……after the Parade of Homes in Highland, were over!!

This kitchen was TO DIE FOR! It had so much storage and 2 huge islands and 4 sinks! (4 SINKS?) They must have lots of kids. Maybe they each have to do a little pile of dishes every night and there are 4 of them or something. 😀 Who really needs 4 sinks people? The counters were Caesarstone. HERE is a link. It is overtaking granite countertops more now because it is smoother, manmade from quartz. The two islands were butcherblock and I think a quartz. Both were HUGE! Look at the fridge! It looked like a blue barn door.

I LOVED the decor on these shelves with the aqua and silver and white. It is similar to my great room colors. This decorator happened to be in the kitchen while we were browsing. I told her how beautiful her work was. I loved it all. Here are some of the highlights of this Highland Parade of Homes beauty.
This wall treatment going up the beautiful stairs was out of this world cute. Now just imagine this gallery of pictures with your OWN KIDS’ pictures inside!!! Wouldn’t it be just so fine? Yeah, my daughter and I loved this. Notice a few of the pretty mirrors added a lot and the ampersand. I have a giant M I would put on mine.

Now she had the same idea again with pottery, mostly white plates in the dining room. But I thought it may be too close to the stairs to have as much of an impact. I’d probably put a family picture in a cool frame here instead. After all, you are going to put some do dads on this pretty, blue, weathered cabinet now aren’t you? Better to have a plain picture or maybe a mirror behind it.

Pretty living room had these beautiful windows in a circular wall of windows look. It was VERY impressive! This house was maybe my favorite of all of the houses we looked at. Mostly because of the kitchen, but this living room and the decor and colors made it special. Notice those railroad car doors leading ot the craft room. They were SO pretty.
Here is a close up of these cool doors. I am trying to think of a way to use these in my house. Maybe the entrance to the great room? I loved the 3 pictures to the side in different colored frames too. Everything looked kind of beachy casual.

The living room  fireplace was small to not take away or diminish the beauty of these windows. There was a smallish T.V. on top of the fireplace. But what I really LOVED were these cool hanging lanterns. OOOHHHHH!

These are not something I’ve seen a lot and I fell in love with them. I think there were 5 of them.

The office was definitely more of a man’s masculine place. The colors were more brown, black and dark blue.

Another room I LOVED in this house was the CRAFT ROOM. It was so unique with the strips of complimentary but differing wallpapers in yellows and corals and blues. Who would have thought of that? I loved it.

Then they had repurposed some cute little old chest of drawers in coral/orange and a china hutch in beachy blue at the Parade of Homes in Highland, Utah. I wanted that blue china hutch.

I’d put all kinds of cool crafty things in this. There are places for everything in this Craft Room!

Downstairs they had this cute little weathered bench in the perfect spot.

Here is just one of the two giant islands in this kitchen. You would definitely be having lots of par-tays here!

I think you can see 2 more sinks here, besides the one in the island. There is one to the right and one to the left. Maybe it is HIS and HERS SINKS? (I’d make the hubs do all my dishes in the HERS side…..haha)

I liked the backsplash in this house to. It was kind of a bluish gray pattern. But what I LOVED was this very cool and creative chandelier made out of teacups. I’ve never seen anything like it. This was definitely a decorator’s dream kitchen here.

Here is a close up of the Teacup Chandelier at the Parade of Homes in Highland. How COOL IS THAT? What if you could make one with your granny’s old antique teacups? Mine had a collection of them that I still have a few of. We had to split them up so everybody could have a couple between all the granddaughters.

Like me, this decorator has a soft spot for her granny too. She framed some of her old recipes written in her own handwriting. That was so special, I thought. Then she has a little herb garden right on the kitchen counter. I loved it. I will have to copy this!!

Here was one of the open areas as you walk upstairs. I think it may have been a teenager’s T.V. room. There was some playroom ideas too like the cute, striped TeePee to the right. Then there were desks in the corners; most probably for computer use..

This. Kid’s. Bedroom. Was. SO. CLEVER. and Cute.  Totally CUTE Shark Room!

The wire shark had a cute little wood board that said, “You’re gonna need a bigger boat”. So fun. And then this climbing wall leading up to the loft with the net? I loved the sliding down fireman’s pole too. And the weathered boards on the ceiling were really clever. It reminded me of an old beached out rowboat!

What kid wouldn’t LOVE this fireman’s pole to slide down from the loft?

Under the wire shark decoration there were wire baskets with nautical No.1 to No. 12 to fill up with toys, and sports equipment. Notice the cool ceiling treatment? Weathered wood planks and blue painted boards mixed in. Very cool.
The other side of the room had a T.V. room underneath with some comfy hassocks and pillows and a game system. Up above was the “boat” bunkbed with bookcases on both sides. What little boy wouldn’t LOVE this room? It made me want to go home and change my nautical “Mariner’s Room” to a little shark theme instead.

Here is another peek at the T.V. nook under the bunk bed. It even had some nautical looking lanterns on either side of the T.V. I like the idea too that those noisy game systems would have their own noisy place under the bed. The other kid could go read a book up in one of the two bed lofts.
This bedroom seemed like it was for a young teenager girl. It had so many pretty things in it. I loved the aqua blue painted walls and the shimmery blue and white wallpapered wall. The lamps were very feminine as was the pure white bedcovers. I loved the old fashioned repainted little white vanity with the circular mirror. It reminded me of one on my grandma’s farm in Iowa back in the day.

This lucky teen has her own little sitting area to have friends over. I loved the striped couch and all the cute pillows too. To the right she has her own piano you can barely see.

Weren’t these pillows just sooo charming? You can never have too many pillows, am I right?
This was her own little silver piano in her bedroom. I really liked these pictures too.  They were made form an old piece of sheet music and then black lettering overlay with cute song names. You could do this in a music room at home. Darling idea!!!

Another favorite of this Parade of Home house was the stairs leading up to a grandkid’s room. There were all these perfectly sweet sayings, many of them I remember coming from Disney Movies. I wonder if it all these are  favorite family quotations?

I know that last one is from Disney’s Cinderella!

Vinyl quotations on Stair steps were very clever and creative. The whole house was clever and creative. I thought it was just simply magnificent. Great job on the decorating. Lots of furniture was from 4 Chairs Furniture on State Street in Linden, Utah. The blog is HERE at 4 Chairs. I know the decorator works with them too. I’ll have to run over there and check it out!! Check back to see part 3 and 4 on our Parade of Homes Tour.

Josie’s 4th Birthday Party

06/19/2014 by Pattie Leave a Comment

My cute little granddaughter, Miss Josie turned 4 and had a fun birthday last Saturday! Woo Hoo!
Here was her darling Care Bears Cake. All the kids wanted a piece of the “rainbow” when I was helping Wendy cut and serve the cake. So cute.
I think Josie got lots of really cute presents. But I think she really loved this one. She took it out right away and put the shoes and tiara and earrings on asap!

Here she is in her princess jewelry. She loved it I could tell!

Josie got a fun bouncy house with a slide and a little splash pool the kids all had a fun time in.

Cousin Meg loved it too. But she couldn’t wait till the water was added so she could slide down into the pool!

These two cousins are 1 year olds that really liked hanging out with each other. And here is Aunt Tiff and Aunt Caitlin.

Third Cousin born last year too. I got a little smile and hugs from Chelsea!

Girls just want to have fun! These girls wanted to go play in the bouncy house.

Chelsea love the bouncy house too!

Pretty birthday cake for Josie girl.

Happy Birthday to you. She got to blow out 4 little candles.
Grandpa taking pics in the foreground, and mom, Wendy on the left holding Chelsea. Caitlin holding Dylan on the right. Lots of partygoers too.

Meg was the die hard playing even after everybody was done eating hot dogs, chips and salads.

Dev and Lena and grandpa and Josie after the presents were mostly opened.

Darling picture of the Birthday Girl! Happy Birthday Josie!

Hi Uncle Devin! Thanks for bringing cousin Lena!

This was a funny picture of grandpa and Chelsea, the blue eyed doll. It was a fun time for everybody!

Outdoor Wedding Garden Party at Le Jardin in Sandy, Utah

06/18/2014 by moss Leave a Comment

I snapped a few pictures at a recent outdoor garden wedding reception I went to with the hubs. It was so pretty! Our California friends Vickie and Russ’s only son was married nearby and had a reception up at Le Jardin, where we had our son’s reception. So we were lucky to attend and say hello! It’s been years since we’ve seen them!

Le Jardin is a giant greenhouse filled with lovely things. Here I am entering the front of it. I love this place. It is a flower shop during the day and at night is is for parties, receptions, and family reunions.

Everywhere you look are flowers, statues, fountains, wrought iron, plants and beauty.

Oh and lots of arches, gazebos and twinkly lights too! I got NO good pictures of people. My camera was on the wrong setting. My bad.

I didn’t get a great shot of the cake, but it sure was pretty, as were the bride and groom. I used to teach this particular groom when he was only 7 years old. He was one of my 2nd graders back in California when I taught school there. He is now a physicist! Wow!

Here was a cute little sitting nook I thought was pretty. The whole place had so many plants and flowers everywhere, and little twinkle lights here and there. Very pretty.

Pretty flowers paths and plantings everywhere at Le Jardin in Sandy, Utah……

Lots of Pots full of beautiful pansies…… I wish mine looked this good already! How do they do it?

These purple and white pansies do make a charming combination don’t they? It looks like daffodils or tulips were behind these once upon a time. They have the same problem I do…..deer love to eat the flower tops off as soon as they bud out! Notice every one is gone.

I loved the statuary all around and many water features to add ambiance to the garden like atmosphere. These indoor tulips were saved from deer munching. haha.

This is the outdoor gazebo that I just LOVE. It is fun to go strolling around it in the early evening looking at all the flowers and greenery that surround it.  My house is just up the street and so are the mountains (well, about 10 minutes away those mountains are….and just look they still have snow on them!

Pretty heart shaped topiaries on the tables were so pretty as were the pink and white hydrangeas.

I wish I could grow hydrangeas and spider plants like this. Some of my very favorites!

This was such a sweet touch at the reception as you were leaving. I grabbed a couple for our trip to the movies. YUM!

The reception center is called LE JARDIN and has a beautiful meandering walkway through this lush garden and tables are set up here and there to the sides till you get to the back where they had a lovely set up of sandwiches and sweet treats I forgot to snap a picture of. My bad. You know what happens to me around food. I lose all my sense that is what!!

More beautiful pottery filled with greenery at Le Jardin Reception Center in Sandy, Utah.

I loved this lamp so much I bought one similar to it a few years ago and it stands in my front bay window of my house next to a little oak bench. I love it. But I got my inspiration from Le Jardin.

Good luck to the newlyweds! I hope you enjoyed your wonderful wedding day!  I didn’t get ANY good pics of people. But this little picture of a picture tells the story anyway. Congratulations Taylor! I thought your new bride was a doll. 😀

Parade of Homes Part 1 in Highland, Utah

06/18/2014 by Pattie Leave a Comment

We took a day to explore the Parade of Homes yesterday in Highland, Utah. I had my son and daughter with me and we took one of the babies, my grandson Dylan with us.

It was a blast. But it was kind of cold and rainy. Other than that we loved it.

This was one of my favorite features in the first home we looked at in the Parade of Homes in Highland, Utah. I loved all the white built ins and the pretty mirror over the fireplace.
Pretty den with muted colors….

Media room with a metal wall with these black PVC pipe contraptions connected with magnets. It looked like a fun toy you could put balls inside of and build pathways for that ball to travel through. We played with it awhile. And now I want a magnetic wall in my house! Dev does too….snicker…..and yes, he IS MAKING A FACE AT ME!

Pretty bathroom. I loved the mirror and  countertop material. I think it was quartz.

I loved this one too in grey paint. The parade of homes all had lots of gray and pale blue wall colors as well as accessories in blue and gray and silver.

This was a cool basement where they had the very high ceilings. But they were able to raise them because the kept the duct work hanging down below the ceilings.  Notice the silver tubing to the left top. And that cute young man is my son Devin, coming along with Tiff and I. These lights were cool hanging in the kitchen too.

Here’s my daughter Tiff with my grandson Dylan. He was such a trooper! I just LOVED this train car door. They had these in lots of the houses. It is rolled from side to side on wheels on a track at the top like pocket doors. But the old barn wood made them even more special. I loved that weathered look with the metal accessories.

Okay, believe it or not this was an indoor basketball court. And it wasn’t the only one we saw today. I guess it is all the rage to build them. At least your boys would be kept busy during the long winter months. They’d just be playing downstairs in your own home court! Cool! (I think Devin was a little blown away by this though……snicker…..)

This was a little side room in the basement for the little kids to play in. It had books and toys galore.

And the front of it had a little indoor, “little red schoolhouse” look to it. It had a mailbox and a school bell. The shelves and slide to the side were filled with educational games I’ve seen in kindergarten classrooms.

Here are puzzles and games and a cute slide that was built in to the playhouse at the Parade of Homes in Highland, Utah.

They also had a mural to the side to show a little field to “play” around in after school. So super CUTE!

I loved the decor in the little guestroom off of the basement fun area.
Here’s Devin and Cait and Lena who came to visit. We had lots of fun with them, swimming, hiking, going to a wedding reception, having Father’s Day homemade ice cream, and just basically hanging out together.

Another bedroom had a “construction zone” theme going on with stop signs and road signs.

I loved this all metal wall we saw in quite a few of the homes. Imagine the fun you could have with magnetic items to place all over your metal walls. There are so many applications for this idea. Here was just one. I loved it!! I’m copying it.

Here was the headboard made from some old barnwood or an old weathered fence. I have a neighbor who just tore down their old fence. I might have to run over there and borrow some pieces of wood. I have a bedroom it would be perfect for!
Pretty hanging lamps in the kitchen…..

The kitchen was pretty but what really caught my eye was this light blue and brown wood table. The legs were repainted a light blue. I just bought some lime green paint to do just this with an old oak, ball and claw table for my living room bay window. It is a small table with no leaves. I think using this same idea will look really swell!
I just HAD to include this cute tablescape of a BEACHY blue theme which is what I have in my great room. Some people may want to just go with a relaxing theme like this in their kitchen.  After all, who wouldn’t want to dream of a day lying on a tropical beach somewhere on your holidays?  Hmmm…..that reminds me oooooooooh….I love summer so much.  This was from Mimi in the Middle of Nowhere. It would go SO great on the above table in blue and brown, my great room colors.

I guess mine is more turquoise than blue in my great room…..but the beachy theme is definitely there.

Here is what I have finished in the great room so far. It is kind if blue and brown all around.

The very coolest part of this house was the 2 huge decks on both floors of the house and they both overlooked a HUMUNGUS backyard with a pool, a built in trampoline and a kids fort with slides and swings. I think kids would play here all summer. They had lots of yard too and a pretty view of the surrounding trees.

A close up of the pool. You could swim lots of laps in that pool!

The kids fort was so cool too. It reminded me of a little private park! How fun would that be. And mom can see you from the kitchen windows.

We saw two more houses but I’ll post about them another day. I’m gonna go play now! Summer is ON!

School is out and Cowabunga Bay is IN

Grandkiddos Lena and Dylan both born last year
Well school has been out for 2 weeks now and I’m really enjoying my time off! We had my son, Devin, from Chicago and his wife Caitlin come to visit with their little 1 year old, Lena. She is close in age to my grandson Dylan, both of them are pictured above. Aren’t they sweet?
Here is my class of 2013-14 minus 3 more kiddos. It was a very big class. Here they are showing off their writing portfolios. These babies ended up being about and inch and a half thick!

Here they all are at our end of the year play called Ugly Duckling. It turned out really cute.

I’ve had fun so far having company stay for a week, going to Cowabunga Bay with the grandkids and eating out a lot.

Having fun swimming the lazy river at Cowabunga Bay waterpark in Draper, Utah.

Isn’t this the cutest picture? Maybe we’ll win a prize. We entered their instagram/facebook contest for Cowabunga pictures. I hope we win!

So far the summer is meeting expectations!  This week is gardening, painting and going to the Parade of Homes!

My littlest grandkid is so sweet too, isn’t she? Love her! She is always smiling!!

It’s so fun to have family nearby to share the fun with. I’m lucky they are close.

Tulips, Daffodils, and Spring Decorating

04/26/2014 by moss Leave a Comment

Don’t ya just LOVE SPRING? I love all the tulips and daffodils sprouting up around here. No these aren’t mine. I have like a few dozen. These are from Thanksgiving Point Gardens Tulip Festival going on right now in Lehi, Utah. It’s so beautiful to go walk around there and get inspiration!

I just cross my fingers the deer don’t see my tulips  very soon, or they will be gone gone gone in a swift munch. At least they don’t like the daffodils though. I have a few of those that might survive deer. 😀

So with spring comes a renewing of the old decorations. I am changing the decor in my entry room. It is blue and mauve leftover from the 80s. They called and wanted their wallpaper back. So I’m happy to oblige. We are GOING GREEN! It will be kind of lime  greens and yellows and muted corals.

I’m so excited I found  this wall mirror that will be perfect on the new painted walls in the entry room for $15 bucks. Can I get a hallelujah?!! What a steal! It will look nice after I paint the walls a pale lime.  I have an old ball and claw table I’m painting the base lime too. It will look nice here in the bay window.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these garden ceramic drums. They are nice to put a drink on if you have guests sitting on your ottomans or accent chairs. I’ve got one of these in blue in my great room and another one I love in white up at my cabin in the master bedroom. Now I’m going to put the green one in the entry room. It is my inspiration color  for the new decor.
I loved these little mirrored eggs I found too. I think I’ll keep them out year round with the new lime green and yellow decor. I just need a prettier basket than this old green one leftover from St. Patrick’s day! U-G-L-Y! Gotta get to Hobby Lobby!
I got this candle and this cute seahorse to add to the great room. I love the colors. They are all beachy turquoise blue.
And I couldn’t resist this table runner. I love the new beachy colors and designs they have come out with lately. It reminds me of where I grew up! I lived on Redondo Beach most of my teenage life. Miss that salty sea air and the R and R of beachside lounging around with friends. Yup I really do miss that. sigh…..

This little seahorse and runner will  match my great room colors. Here is a little peak of what I’ve been doing on my off time from teaching school. I usually redo something during Spring Break.
Here it is! After months of working on my greatroom, we are almost done! I got new couches and chairs and pretty curtains after we painted and had new floors put down. It is just about done. I loved how the wall paint color turned out. That was actually the hardest part of all the decisions……paint colors. I rely on the hubs a lot. He has the final say because I always go too dark.

John put new ceiling fans in awhile back and they match the floor nice. I love how it is turning out. I got the cute chair from Pier 1. The lamp and knick knacks and pillows are from T. J. Max. I love that store. And I love that guy. He is a good decorating assistant….snicker…..(slave is more like it). I hope he doesn’t read this…..
The after Easter sale was great at T.J. Max. I got a ton of stuff there. Here’s something my grandkids will love.  I got some cupcake decs for CH CH CHEAP!

These sugar sprinkles are regularly like $7.00 and I got the sprinkle container with 4 types of sprinkles for $1.40!!. And who doesn’t love Jelly Belly candies for a buck? Well I do. Yum. I’m going to go eat some right now. I hope there will be leftovers for the grandkids when they come over!!  :-O

Decorating for Spring

Don’t ya just LOVE SPRING? I love all the tulips and daffodils sprouting up around here.

Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point….so pretty!

I just cross my fingers the deer don’t see them very soon, or they will be gone gone gone in a swift munch. Maybe I need to plant more daffodils….they don’t like them for some reason.

Birthday Party for Marisa and Dylan!

04/26/2014 by Pattie Leave a Comment

We had fun blowing out the candles on Marisa Belle’s “birthday cake” the other day. I can’t believe Marisa has turned 7 and Dylan is now 1. Where does the time go? It doesn’t seem possible!

Marisa got lots of crafty things like bracelet makers, crayons and coloring things and some games. She loved her new outfits too.

She actually asked for a chocolate pie instead of a cake. It was really yummy!

We got her a little heart necklace she put right on, and we got her an alarm clock shaped like a flower that shoots the time up on the ceiling. We got her a game and a nightgown too. This girly girl will not wear jammies with feet or pants in them.

Dylan and Gary were both in competition to see who could sing “Happy Birthday” the loudest. Dylan won. (Even though he didn’t know the words to the song, he hollered it out real nice!) He lubs his sista!

He is such a cutie pie! It was fun to see him “joining in” on the song!

He loved the chocolate cake/pie too!

But he really likes his new “Neal Caffrey” hat. haha. (The guy from White Collar).

He is a super cool dude in his Birthday hat.  Love it!

We ate a yummy ham dinner…..

Opened lots of fun presents too!
We brought little Megan some sidewalk chalk so she wouldn’t feel left out. She went right to work on some designs.

And showed me her latest trick. She’s so much fun. I love my grandkiddos.

Easter Decorating Fun

03/29/2014 by Pattie Leave a Comment

Well we are having fun ….decorating the little kiddie table with Peter Rabbit stuff…

My new colors for the living room remodel. I am going with sage green and coral. Now I just need a rug I like. Maybe with a chevron stripe, if that hasn’t been done to death already! 😀

I got out all the Easter Decorations last Saturday…And so I’ve
spent some time decorating this week. I’m almost done!
I’m looking at paint swatches for the stucco job that is starting outdoors. We are almost entirely done with the inside of my house. Just the living room is left. We’ve done 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a kitchen, a den, and a basement and greatroom. Now the living room is all that is left.

I gotta take a break from all the decisions to make….and go decorate….here’s the coffee table decorations….

The living room looks cute….but everything is so 80s plaid and dusty blue! It really needs a facelift. So I’m getting some new paint, couches and color scheme! Yay!
Kitchen Table decorations…super cute!

I got new placemats this year….they look really springy

Changed out the Winter floral for spring flowers and little glittery eggs….

I have some pink ribbons I still have to change out here….I have the fall colored ribbons up still…

Cute new Easter napkins in the holder….

And I filled my little glass jars with eggs and candies and added my egg dishes to the plate rack…I almost
have little plates for every season now….

Little pastel taffy would have looked cuter than tootsie pops though…
I have pastel blue and sage green plates I’ll have to choose from when I set the table…

Got out the Spring Flowers too…

Front entry table…I love the cute Happy Easter I just got from Tai Pan…and the little ceramic dotted egg…

I got the cute egg runner last year and the cute, white egg candle at Kohls after the season sale… I think I’ve got
an egg theme going on here…..I love it!

Mr and Mrs. Bunny….too bad my dog Brucie bit the boy bunny’s eyeball out!  He’s a devious dog. Sometimes
we call him Brucifer when he’s naughty like that…he can be a bully to stuffed animals he doesn’t like…

spring flowers too….and lots of bunnies and eggs….

I love this picture of my granddaughter Marisa…..she’s my little bunny….
And I had some fun candy for this bunny dish but guess who ate it all? ….snicker….

I used to have a collection of these beautiful mercury glass eggs…till little kiddos loved them too much and cracked them…

But GOOD NEWS! I found 4 new ones this year at T.J. Maxx!

I LOVED these mercury eggs I found at T. J. Maxx.  The colors match my new living room decor colors too!

I’ll have to find a pretty basket to put my new mercury eggs in…..and I just LOVE this pretty coral and sage green pillow. These are my new living room colors. I need to find a rug I like and some cream colored or light tan couches I like.

Spring floral arrangement in the corner….I think I’m all ready for Easter finally….I’ll just close the door
on the room that looks like a bomb blew off in there….

My little grand kids  Peter Rabbit table…I got the table for $28 bucks at Down Home East
and the decorations for 40% off at Pottery Barn Kids….Plates and utensils  from Target $1.00

Easter Decorating is so much fun!

Happy Easter!

Ice Castles in Midway, Utah

03/21/2014 by Pattie Leave a Comment

We had fun at the Ice Castles in Midway, Utah a few weeks ago.

Tiff and Gary invited us so we all piled into the van and went on a Saturday road trip!

Johnny brought his camera and so did I. We got some great pictures!

I loved seeing the ice castles at Midway, Utah. They were lovely.

Megan and Marisa loved seeing the FROZEN Princesses…..

I got this cute picture….Marisa was too shy to be in it with the princesses. Meg was in heaven!

Can you see the carved heart in this beautiful section of ice?

Here’s a close up. This would have made a cute picture backdrop.

They had some cool caves where the sun streamed through a tiny bit….it gave an eerie blue hue to everything.

Gary and Dylan liked it too.

The princess were a real hit with the kids that were there…..

Tiff’s family
I took this pic of Marisa standing under a big wad of ice….it looked a little scary!

I wondered what would happen if this huge chunk decided to fall down on top of them! Probably nothing. They’d start playing in it most likely!

They were hiding from the Frozen princesses.

Megan’s coming down this little slide, Marisa is telling me her butt is all wet! haha!

Here we all are coming out the other side. It was a lot of fun.

Grandpa liked it even! You have to go see it once!

Then we went into town to see some of the cute Midway shops. It is a very quaint, cute town!

We got burgers and fries and chicken strips from Dairy Keen, a highly recommended restaurant in town. It has a cute train theme with a train that runs all around the ceiling, and train models and seats outside. The kids loved the ice cream. I loved the shakes!

It was a very fun day!

These kinds of days make life worth living. Go out and do something different today!

This should be on everybody’s bucket list. Down the street is the Crater. I highly recommend it too. It is a natural hot pool. It is beautiful to go from snow to a hot pool surrounded by a big, cement bubble. It is steamy and fun. Try it out! HERE is a Groupon Coupon for $22.00 for the Crater.
